The missionary journeys of Brother Luke

photo

Praise God during the 2012Chinese New Year, I was in the southern part of China ministering to various Christian groups as well as evangelizing among the non-believers for 2 weeks time.  I was also able to celebrate this most important holiday with my aged and physically ill parents for the first time since I left China 23 years ago.  In this southern city of China, I led a series of spiritual revival meetings for 3 days among the Christian businessmen fellowship which I helped to establish in 2010.  I was very happy to re-connect with many brothers and sisters, and encouraged them to witness and serve God in their lives and work places.

In a nearby university town, I spoke at a winter camp among the college students.  They were very eager to know about Jesus and wanted to commit their lives following God.

I also went to a remote countryside area and fellowshipped with the local believers and started a prayer chain and spiritual training base. Returning to Shanghai, I ministered in the different city house churches there, sharing gospel and leading many to Jesus.  Praise God for His amazing grace and mighty power, and thank you again for your prayers.

Ministry in Bello, Colombia

photo

Russ & Cheryl Shiebler from New Hampshire have made many trips to Colombia helping Pastor Omar (red tee-shirt) with their outstanding children's ministries. Here's a report from Russ:

The Bello church is boldly moving forward with the church building expansion . . .  by faith.  Pastor Omar and his family have moved to two small rooms in the back of the church so they could double the width of the sanctuary by tearing out a wall between the church and their house.  They have begun building a second floor above the church which will serve as the pastor’s residence and children’s ministry rooms when finished.  Omar told me they have between 80 and 100 children on a Sunday morning!  The Wednesday night worship service in the enlarged church was still “packed” and awesome.  This is a great ministry in a difficult part of Colombia and really making a difference for the Kingdom of God.
